Raised on a musical diet of Saturday morning R&B radio, soul, and classic rock, Wig-Wam’s passion for music started at a young age. This led to an obsessive interest in dance music, DJing and a weekly college radio show in Syracuse, NY. After moving to New York City, Wig-Wam started DJing in clubs and lounges. Around this time, he also took a job as an editor at VICE’s THUMP, beginning a career in journalism reporting on the world’s electronic music industry.
Wig-Wam went on to co-found Goonroom, a roaming club night devoted to introducing international DJs to the NYC scene, with a focus on house, disco, and funk styles. The outfit has programmed nights at major venues like Output, Good Room, Jupiter Disco, and Black Flamingo, and was picked by Time Out New York as one of the city’s top parties in 2017. Wig-Wam’s ethos is that “life moves to the beat,” and he loves to provide that soundtrack and make people smile and move.
